Congratulations to Xujun Eberlein!

Xujun Eberlein's short story collection Apologies Forthcoming has won the third annual Tartt Short Fiction Award, and will be published in 2008 by Livingston Press. Here is what Livingston Press has to say:

Xujun Eberlein's collection, Apologies Forthcoming has won the third annual Tartt Short Fiction Award. Xujun's collection centers on Mao's Cultural Revolution (and its aftermath) in China. The interaction of her characters is volatile, terse - and at the same time quite complicated and sometimes desperately loving, as to be expected of that turbulent time. We hope to have Xujun's collection out in late spring of 08.

The book's title stems from Xujun's fine short story "Men Don't Apologize" , which was published in Issue V of Night Train.

Congratulations Xujun!

Wonderful, Xujun. I know two excellent stories that will surely be in the collection. They appeared Night Train and Paumanok Review.
