Barrett's The Borges Cure is a poetic experience, shimmering all the way to the end. Wonderful.

I loved this story. I loved the idea of an icon or iconic impression both freeing one and yet forcing memory. Without memory what do we have? How do we proceed without our experiences?

I found this elegant little piece intensely sad -- I think it perfectly renders the process of mourning a dead romantic relationship, and how, even though we try to forget as time moves on, most of us never really do: there is always a piece of it in the back of the mind, hanging around, waiting to rear its ugly head.

Nice work. The last line is particularly powerful.

The way it ends really feels Borgesian!
