Night Train Relaunches!
Night Train's newer simpler streamlined site debuts officially April 1st, but what's a few days among friends? You'll notice a few blank pages, particularly in the contents area, but fear not, our first online issue will debut on or around May 1st, with weekly featured Firebox Fiction to follow soon after. In the meantime, we've opened our new online submissions system for you to get accustomed to and submit with, courtesy of the fine folks at www.gudmagazine.com.
Things you'll notice:
--online system submissions only. Please don't send anything to submission@nighttrainmagazine.com anymore. The mail will bounce, and make us all very unhappy.
--poetry. We're accepting poetry now. We've overcome our lack of chutzpah in this area and figure this shouldn't stop us from doing what we want to do. Send us a few poems, hey? And say hello to Cami Park, our poetry editor.
--this blog. From here on, we'll be using this space as a way of communicating with you. We hope to post contributor news, interviews, and literary ephemera in the time-honored manner of blogs everywhere. Feel free to log in and comment.
--contests. We will be holding the Richard Yates Competition at a later date, when we've raised sufficient prize money.
--support. We still need your financial support. While going primarily online has saved us from financial ruin, this space costs money, and we'd like to continue to run competitions. Your donations will go toward keeping the site up, providing money for those competitions, and eventually, hopefully, help us return to paying our contributors, as we did when we founded Night Train in 2002.
That's about it. Submissions of Firebox Fiction (under 1500 words), fiction (under 4000 words), and poetry are welcome as soon as you choose to register. Look for more changes as we tweak the look of the site, and thanks for sticking with us over these long months. We're glad to be reading your work again.
Congratulations on the launch of your new web site!
I'm so ecstatic to see you again, I've just used my lifetime supply of exclamation points!
Break a leg, Rusty!
good news about the poetry, btw.
